 Escape to a posh resort for a relaxing poolside dining experience. The solid base with a stretched out pillar appeal will make you feel like you should be calling for towel boy to pamper you. Designed with simplicity yet luxury in mind, the Ovalada base fits any décor perfectly in any room or outside space. The Ovalada base came to me during a once in a lifetime vacation to London. During my stay there, I decided go watch a game of cricket! I had never been to a cricket game before and was curious to see what the fuss was all about. Well, we got tickets to a game that was going to be played in "The Oval". The Oval is an international cricket ground in Kennington, London. In the middle of this game, it dawned on me how massive this cricket ground was. I was inspired right there and then to create a dining base with this in mind. Inspired by its massive size, I decided to also make my base fairly large. As a result, I created this base that is significantly large enough to hold a fairly large glass top. It makes a great focal point. This particular piece is significantly time consuming to produce, because of the "grated" look I went after. To make that grated look, I hand carve with a special carving tool each and every vertical line. The result of course is that each piece is entirely unique from the next. They all have a little bit of a different texture. I love that rough look contrasted by the smooth finish I give to the middle ring, lower ring, and top part of the base.
