1. I'm interested in investing in __________ stone piece. Can you modify/customize it? Yes, absolutely! I can modify any of the pieces you see on my website. I can make them larger, smaller, and stronger or whatever you need done to it.
2. Can you carve me a piece based on my own original design? Yes, I can certainly do that. If you send me a picture, drawing, or a sketch with some dimensions, I can let you know right away if I can do what you are asking.
3. How much will it cost to modify a piece? This is done on a case by case basis. It is best if you fill out our form on the website and include any drawing and specifications that you may have. Once you do this, we will get back to you (usually) within 24 hours with your quote.
Please note: to ensure that we properly quote you, it is necessary for you to fill out the form on our website. If you call one of my assistants for a quote, they will usually walk you through the form and you will have to wait several hours to hear from my custom pieces project manager to quote you.
4. How quickly will you create my piece? This depends on the complexity of the piece and also on my work backlog. Although I have started to take under my leadership several additional new apprentices to ease my workload and allow me to take on more work, the process of creating these pieces is still very labor intensive and time consuming.
Please allow about 10 weeks from the moment you sign your work order for you to receive your pieces. Usually, I will be willing to rush your order for a rush fee of 25% the order amount. If you are willing to pay a premium of 25%, I will have your item ready in as little as 5 weeks. If I fail to ship your item within 5 weeks, then I will refund your 25%.
5. What is the process of placing a customized order? Whenever you order any item, there is a box where you can enter any text. You will see this box on the page that displays product information. If you want your item customized, you can enter the information there.
When we receive your order, if my assistants see that you wanted something customized, then we will notify you to let you know how much more the customization would add to your total. At that point, you can approve the customization, or you can simply order the item in its standard format.
6. What happens after I place a customized order? If you place an order that requires customization or the creation of a new piece, the process is as follows: i. You submit your quote specification form. ii. We open up a special ticket number for you. iii. You approve our initial quote amount. iv. We give you access to a private client website, where you are assigned a project manager to keep you abreast of the progress of your order. v. You make a deposit of $50, which is applied towards your order. This deposit is used to create a CAD drawing of your design along with scaled measurements. vi. You approve the design and sign off. vii. We begin production and charge you 50% of the balance minus the $50 dollar drafting deposit. viii. Your item arrives and ships ix. We charge the remaining balance.
7. What happens if I get my piece and I don't like it? Hopefully, that will not happen. That is why we create your piece in a 3 dimensional CAD drawing where you can view it from any angle.
A custom piece is usually very difficult for me to resell should you not like it. However, if you don't want your piece, I don't want you to keep it. Return the piece to me, and I will refund you 50% of the cost of the piece.
8. Ok, I understand that you need to process a quote to let me know how much a customization will cost, but can you give me a ball park figure? Sure, I can give you some ball park figures for the dining bases. For the other items, it depends too much on what sizes you are looking for.
To customize a dining base and make it stronger or larger, I usually charge around $150. This would allow you to make the base 15 inches wider, taller, or deeper.
